Regularising the bazaar leases

More than two hundred shops in the Ganjali Khan bazaar belong to the endowment. Many leases had gone unrenewed for decades and rents were far below their real value.

Through official valuation and face-to-face dialogue with shopkeepers, new leases were drawn up at fair rates with defined annual increases. Long-standing traders kept priority, and Kerman's crafts — from carpets to pateh embroidery — received a special share of the shops.

Reviving the qanat and pistachio orchards

The endowment's qanat, which once watered the orchards around Kerman, had been drying up. Traditional clearing by experienced qanat diggers and a new storage pool made its flow steady again.

The endowment's pistachio orchards were fitted with drip irrigation, and part of the harvest is sold under the "Ganjali Khan Endowment Pistachio" label in the club's stores — a sustainable income for the endowment's causes.

Financial transparency and the annual report

Since 2018 the endowment's annual financial report — covering income from each property and spending on each of the founder's intentions — has been published after an independent audit.

  • Income broken down by bazaar, caravanserai, orchards and lodging
  • The share of each endowment purpose: upkeep, feeding, education and healthcare
  • Quarterly reports to the family board of trustees
